Business Development Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Muscat, Oman.Our ideal candidate thrives in a design business, and enjoys the idea of tackling the job both from a day-to-day perspective of sales outreach and building client relationships, as well as from a larger scope of understanding our studio’s mission and building a larger sales and brand strategy. The candidate is someone who gets excited by the idea of working independently and closely with the interior designers, brainstorming about creative ways to build the business and sales, while maintaining a clear focus for the brand.

We are looking for someone with experience in luxury sales or anything similar, and established relationships within the Muscat community.The right personality fit for the team is of utmost importance, hence no emphasis on a particular educational background. Primary Responsibilities

A business development professional has three primary responsibilities:

  1. Identifying new sales leads

  2. Pitching Design & Procurement services

  3. Maintaining fruitful relationships with existing customers

Generate Leads

When it comes to generating leads, day-to-day duties typically include:

  • Researching organisations and individuals online (especially on social media) to identify new leads and potential new markets

  • Researching the needs of other companies and learning who makes decisions about designing and purchasing

  • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings

  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives

  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events

Close Deals

When it comes to the challenge of actually selling, other typical duties include:

  • Preparing Keynote / PowerPoint presentations

  • Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in the company’s services or products

  • Developing quotes and proposals

  • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person

  • Developing sales goals for the team and ensuring they are met

  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills

To keep healthy relationships with clients, this mostly requires socialisation. So from simple chats on the phone to lunches and events or conferences business development managers must be sure to keep their customers happy. Of course, as with all office jobs, documentation is also a big part of the work. Business development professionals are also obligated to write reports and provide feedback to upper management about what is and is not working.

We are seeking a Lead Interior Designer to head our interior team in Muscat office.

Responsibilities of this role

  • Develop initial ideas and acquire key information about potential projects, discuss requirements in detail with clients (the brief) and set project schedules

  • Understand clients' needs and the needs of the people using the building to develop design concepts and establish final briefs

  • Consider materials and costs according to set budgets and negotiate project fees

  • Conduct feasibility studies for projects; Research and gather information and photographs relating to the project

  • Produce 'sample' or 'mood' boards to present to clients

  • Source products, e.g. fittings, furniture, lighting, finishes, decoration and dressing, and provide samples

  • Guide the team to prepare detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and renders, using 3D max, Autocad, Sketchup, Revit, Lumion, Photoshop etc.

  • Survey buildings and sites, work in a team with other designers

  • Supervise work at the design stage and on-site

  • Work closely with the design team to establish costs and work schedules on larger projects, with architects and other design professionals to determine the best use of space, and with manufacturers and contractors

  • Keep up to date with new developments in the design industry. Visit exhibitions and trade fairs to keep up with the latest trends.

  • Assist Lead Interior Designer in his roles including business, finance and marketing.

  • In addition, the designer may also sometimes act as a project manager for the client throughout the construction stage. This can involve coordinating the design on-site and managing the construction team.

We are seeking a motivated, collaborative and detail-oriented person to join d2’s team as an Architectural/Interior Design Visual Artist. This position requires a team member with a degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Engineering, sharp graphic design skills, a keen eye for details, a desire to focus on architectural representations and visualisations, a developed sense of composition and lighting quality, and a passion for architecture, design and publications.

This team member is comfortable working collaboratively to brainstorm new concepts, as well as independently to produce photorealistic renderings, artistic, and detailed design drawing. They will have the ability to produce high quality renderings and presentation materials that effectively convey concepts and designs to clients, architects, interior designers, urban planners, contractors and other design professionals. Candidates should be eager to leverage these abilities toward strategic and creative project related and marketing initiatives in a collaborative yet fast-paced environment.

The candidate should demonstrate a strong command of high-end rendering techniques and post production with strong skills in:

  • Minimum: 3Ds Max, SketchUp, Revit, Vray/Corona, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Windows-based studio environment.

  • Bonus: Lumion, Rhino, FStorm, Unreal Engine, Enscape, and other 3D and visualisation software candidate can bring to the table. Experience with VR walkthroughs and setup a plus.


  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in image-making at architectural/interior design firms or rendering agencies

  • Ability to create and manage an easy-to navigate 3d asset library accessible to the firm’s other visualisation artists

  • Excellent organisational and clear communication skills

  • Able to coordinate with outside rendering agencies on projects deemed too large or deadline intensive to do in-house

  • + Ability to produce conceptual illustrations, diagrams, as well as artistic and photo-realistic renderings

  • + Bonus: Experience with architectural photography or videography and holds the skill to communicate through hand renderings

  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design and/or Urban Planning

  • Ability to work and deliver within tight time frames

Joinery Draughtsman

We are seeking a Mid-level Interior Joinery Draughtsman.  Applicant should have a strong background in AutoCAD; strong understanding x-refs and layers. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with the ability to work within tight deadlines.

Applicant will be assisting the Interior Designer on projects that include architectural/interior drafting, detail production, and basic project documentation/coordination.  

Applicant must have comprehensive drafting skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, strong organisational capabilities, and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment. Samples should include a clear description of your role with each drawing, as well as a variety of drawing types.

The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of professional experience

  • Strong background in AutoCAD, with a strong understanding x-refs and layers

  • Understanding of creating a set of construction drawings

  • Understanding of MEP Design and drafting is a big plus

  • A keen sense of interior mill-work and stone detailing as it relates to design as well as functionality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Must be able to pass a basic CAD test after the initial interview.

  • Candidate should be prepared to work within tight deadlines.
